Taylor Mountain Avalanche - Centennial Range

From an email:

"... this is a huge Avalanche that ran almost a mile (no Joke)... This avalanche happened on Sunday 3/10/2013 around 1:30 in the afternoon. A very high powered sled and rider was climbing out of this drainage, somehow after a short ride he was spit out and was un-injured, there was other riders in the area that were off to the side that witnessed as much as possible thru all the snow dust. The sleds wherabouts are unknown and may not be known till June or July. Estimated depth at the toe could be 40 -50 feet deep. These folks were extremely lucky. Didnt make to the crown but looks to be 2 -3 feet ran almost to the ground, heavy wet slab type. Looks like it ran onto the frozen rain/snow mix that we got back around thanksgiving. The bed is so slick that you cannot walk on it and nor barely ride our snowmachines, kinda looks like a 1/2 pipe snowboard bowl. Hill degree angle was between 35 degrees to aleast 40 in spots."
