From Beartooth Powder Guides, "Today, on a tour up Sheep Creek, I found protected North facing powder about 18" deep and perfect riding conditions. Saw large new snow avalanche off of Miller Ridge on West,SW slope that looked like it had just happened this AM. Pretty broad (100 yards wide in the run out zone)." Photo: B. Zavora
Mark Staples found 7 inches of dense (15%) new snow on a snowpack almost 5 feet deep. Two feet off the ground facets broke in the Extended Column Test. It's taking more force to get this layer to break, which is a sign of stengthening. Photo: GNFAC
This small slide occurred just off Buck Ridge in 1st Yellowmule. It occurred without a human trigger which is a bad sign. Avalanches happening on their own, mean we can easily trigger them. Photo: B. Ashe
