Wrigley the dog, triggered this small, steep, wind-loaded slope off the trail up Beehive Basin. From his owner, "Wrigley was momentarily buried and then with persistent swimming and digging popped his little head out right as the avalanche was coming to a halt."
Gotta love it.
This avalanche broke on small facets that formed at the snow surface before the recent snows. This small hill is very steep (>45 degrees) and wind-loaded. It was triggered by a dog. The main trail is about 50 feet uphill of the crown. Photo: GNFAC
