This morning the mountains have 2-4” of low density new snow near West Yellowstone and Cooke City, and a trace to 1” near Bozeman and Big Sky. Temperatures are single digits to low teens F and wind is southerly at 15-25 mph with gusts over 45 mph in Hyalite. Today, temperatures will be single digits to low teens F with south to southwest wind at 20-35 mph. Near Bozeman and Big Sky light snow showers will drop 1-3”, and near West Yellowstone and Cooke City 4-6” is possible.

This morning the mountains have 2-4” of new snow near Big Sky, West Yellowstone and the Bridger Range, 1” near Cooke City, and zero in Hyalite. Wind is south-southwest at 15-25 mph, except in the Bridger Range where wind is east at 5-15 mph. This morning temperatures are negative single digits to low teens F, and today will reach single digits above zero to low teens F. Wind will be southwest-southeast at 15-25 mph with snow showers this afternoon and tonight. By morning expect 3-5” in the mountains near West Yellowstone and Big Sky with 2-3” elsewhere, and more snow tomorrow.

This morning an inch of snow fell in Hyalite and a trace in the Bridger Range. Under mostly cloudy skies, temperatures are near 0F and winds are west to southwest averaging 10-20 mph with gusts of 30 mph. Today will warm to the teens with scattered snowfall and winds of 20 mph from the west to southwest. By morning most locations will have 1-2” of new snow with more falling on Saturday.

Last night the Big Sky area picked up 1-2” of new snow. Skies are clearing and temperatures are -5F to -15F at ridgelines. Winds are west to north at 10 to 20 mph creating a freeze-your-face-off wind chill. Today will be sunny and temperatures will rise into the positive single digits as winds remain the same. Tonight will be partly cloudy and temps will fall to just below 0F. Scattered snowfall is expected tomorrow.

The mountains near West Yellowstone received 4-5” of snow in the past 24 hours while the rest of the forecast area received 2-3”. This morning snow has tapered off and skies are partly to mostly cloudy. The temperature inversion has broken down and cold air has moved over the region. At 5 a.m. temps are well below zero F in the mountains near Bozeman and Big Sky and single digits above zero F in the southern mountains. Winds are blowing 5-25 mph out of the west-northwest. Cold and dry conditions settle in for the next few days.

Since yesterday morning, 3-4” of new snow fell near West Yellowstone and Cooke City, 2-3” near Big Sky, and 1-2” near Bozeman. The inversion continues near Bozeman, with valley temperatures near or below 0 F. Above the inversion and elsewhere, temperatures are high teens to low 20s F and will rise into the mid-20s F by this afternoon. Moderate south and west winds will continue today. With more snowfall this morning, and another round tonight, expect 4-7” of new snow by tomorrow morning.

Since yesterday morning the mountains received 10-12” of dense new snow near West Yellowstone and Cooke City, 8-10” near Big Sky, and 3-5” in Hyalite and the Bridger Range. Near Bozeman, an inversion has temperatures near and below zero F at 7,500’ and below, and low 20s F above 8,000’. Elsewhere temperatures are teens to low 20s F. Wind is south-southwest at 15-25 mph this morning with gusts of 40-50 mph yesterday. Today temperatures will remain cold and inverted near Bozeman, and teens to 20s F elsewhere. Wind will be 15-25 mph out of the south-southwest. Snow continues this morning in the southern mountains and resumes tonight in the northern mountains. By morning expect 5-8” near West Yellowstone and Cooke City, and 3-5” near Big Sky and Bozeman.

At 4 a.m. the mountains have received 5” of snow near West Yellowstone and Cooke City, 2-3” near Big Sky, and 0” in Hyalite and the Bridger Range. This morning temperatures are high teens to 20s F. Wind is southwest at 20-45 mph near Big Sky and Hyalite and southeast at 10-20 mph elsewhere. Today, snow showers will continue with temperatures in the low 20s to teens F and wind out of the south-southwest at 20-35 mph. By morning, 10-15” of snow is possible near West Yellowstone and Big Sky with 6-12” elsewhere. Snow will continue through Tuesday with the greatest accumulation near West Yellowstone.

At 5 a.m. temps are in the 20’s F and west-southwest winds are blowing 25-45 mph with gusts pushing 70 mph near Big Sky. Today, warm and windy conditions will continue. Highs warm into the upper 20’s to mid-30’s F and winds remain moderate to strong out of the west-southwest. Snow develops over the southern mountains by this afternoon with 3-5” possible by tomorrow morning. Snow arrives a little later for the northern mountains which will 1-3” by morning. Heavy snow impacts the entire forecast area tomorrow with up to a foot possible by Monday morning.

At 5 a.m. temps range from the teens to mid-20’s F and west-southwest winds are blowing 15-35 mph. Today, temps remain above average with highs warming into the 20’s to upper 30’s F under mostly cloudy skies. Winds will continue to blow 15-35 out of the west-southwest. No snow is expected today or tonight, but a good storm is forecasted to impact the area starting tomorrow and lasting into Monday.
